Q&A
-
Where are Creek Guitars built?
Creek Guitars are crafted entirely in Japan. Creek’s skilled luthiers build, set up, and age each instrument to our demanding standards.
-
What strings come with your guitars?
Our luthiers use D’Addario light gauge phosphor bronze strings, .012 – .053.
-
What is the torrefaction process?
Torrefaction is a unique heat-treatment process applied to wood to remove excess oils and resins, creating a cellular change in the material. As a result, the wood becomes lighter, more rigid, and acoustically similar to well-aged vintage tonewood. Torrefied wood also develops a darker appearance and a distinctive, pleasant aroma. At Creek Guitars, only the most carefully selected tonewoods are chosen for torrefaction, enhancing an already exceptional piece of wood.
-
Why do you choose torrefied Spruce?
Torrefied spruce becomes exceptionally light and rigid, closely resembling the texture and response of naturally aged wood.By using torrefied spruce for the guitar top, the overall weight of the instrument is reduced, while producing an open, clear, and responsive tone reminiscent of fine vintage guitars.
