About
We began building the Creek Guitars Time Machine Series for players who are deeply in love with vintage guitars. Our goal is to offer a “brand-new” vintage guitar—one that captures the tone, feel, and look of a true classic.
How do we do it?
We carefully study original vintage instruments, taking precise measurements and collecting detailed data. Based on this research, we create accurate blueprints and select only the finest materials. We are not trying to make a modern reinterpretation or a simple copy. Instead, our aim is to build guitars that deliver the authentic look, feel, and sound of true vintage instruments, while offering modern playability—and to make them accessible to as many players as possible.
Creek Guitars are known for their light weight, accurate neck carves, and the resonance and sonority associated with genuine vintage guitars.
For example, we use carefully selected torrefied wood for the tops and braces on our CJFG and CSJ models, as well as in selected body components of our CTF models. While torrefied tonewoods have been used in instrument making for many years, they play an essential role in achieving the vintage tone and feel at the heart of the Time Machine Series.
Our CJFG and CSJ models feature torrefied Sitka spruce as standard, with torrefied Adirondack spruce available as an optional upgrade. All of our tonewoods are sourced from the same suppliers trusted by leading American luthiers.
The neck and fingerboard are designed to feel immediately comfortable and familiar—especially to players who have had the rare pleasure of playing a truly great vintage instrument.
Our finishing process is essential in completing the vintage look and feel. Over decades, the finish on vintage guitars becomes thin, hard, and naturally worn. To replicate this, we intentionally apply a thin, hard finish and artistically add a warm, aged patina.
All of these elements come together to deliver the unique sensation you experience when holding and playing a fine vintage guitar.
The Creek Guitars Time Machine Series reflects the passion and knowledge we have gained through handling and studying thousands of vintage instruments over the years. We are also planning to introduce a new series with additional models in the future. Please stay tuned.
